📌From the 9th to the 12th of November 2021, Krousar Yoeung Association (KrY) organized a coaching course for pre-schools teachers on School Readiness Test for 5-year-old children. The teachers came from the target pre-schools of the HCC Program in the provinces of Tboung Khmum and Kratie. This training was under the HCC Program supported by the KinChan Foundation and organized in collaboration with the Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC).

The trainers from Krousar Yoeung Association (KrY) trained participants for two days in both provinces. The aim of this course was to build up the capacity of the teachers in order to improve their understanding of School Readiness Test for 5-year-old children (competency assessment tool). This tool aims at assessing the competencies of a child in the last year of pre-school (the test is usually conducted 3 times a year to see the evolution of each child). The teachers also learnt how to use modern online testing tools. The trainers made sure that the teachers understood the 18 indicators described in the test so that they could apply it in their classes efficiently and evaluate if children are fully ready to join primary school.

The training was conducted in two places. The first place was the Education Office of Ponhea Krek District, Tboung Khmum Province, and a total of 15 pre-school teachers participated. The second place was the Resource Kindergarten of Snoul district, in Kratie province, and a total of 9 pre-school teachers and 1 DoE’s Officer participated. They were from all target pre-schools in Tboung Khmum and Kratie provinces. 👏😊🙏
