From the 2nd until the 7 th of December 2021, Krousar Yoeung Association (KrY) organized a training course for the teachers of the pre-schools of the HCC Program on how to assess the school readiness of five years old children using the test from the Ministry. The trainers from KrY in collaboration with the ECRC (Early Childhood Resource Center) organized this training in the provinces of Siem Reap and Ratanakiri as a part of the Happy Cambodian Children (HCC) Program which is funded by the Kinchan Foundation.
The training lasted for two days in both provinces of Ratanakiri and Siem Reap. The aim of this course was to build up the capacities of the teachers to improve their understanding of the school readiness test for 5-year-old children and improve their skills so that they can carry out the test effectively and know how to use all the tools available. The participants had a better understanding of the 18 indicators of the test and could practice how to implement the test. This coaching course gave the participants knowledge on specific aspects of those tests and allowed them to practice and get advice from the trainers so that they will be able to implement it efficiently and get reliable results.
The training was conducted in two places. Firstly, in the province of Ratanakiri, a total of 19 participants joined the training. Then, in the province of Siem Reap, a total of 10 teachers and stakeholders participated.
