On October 4, 2022, Krousar Yoeung Association started a training course on “Benefits of Early Childhood Education and Development” at Krousar Yoeung Office in Preah Vihear Province to strengthen the capacity of 17 member of core parent groups.

The training will help from October 4 to 6, in order to strengthen the knowledge of the 17 core parents to understand the benefits of education and development of young children under 5 years old. After receiving this training, the core parents will be able to share this knowledge with other parents in the community of the target school where they live.

Preah Vihear is a target province of KRY that implements “Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD)” which is a three-year project in 5 remote areas in Chheb and Chey Sen Districts. The five places, previously did not have enough school for providing education to the children and the children in these locations mostly are vulnerable, including lack of education infrastructure, nutrition, and health care system.

The training for core parents is also part of helping to improve education in these areas by mainstreaming awareness of the benefits of sending young children to pre-school education and caring for them both physically and mentally helps to motivate children to go to school.
