Today was the opening day of a training program organized at KrY’s office for 28 preschool teachers. The teachers participating in the training are from KrY’s target preschools and for two of them from a community kindergarten located in the province of Kampong Cham and supported by Zen Ciril.

This training program is scheduled from the 4th until the 9th of April. The goal is to build up the capacity of new pre-school teachers so that they can learn about key teaching strategies, pre-school pedagogy and class management as well as the technical aspects of teaching and lessons planning.

Among the 28 pre-school teachers participating in the training, twelve are from Ratanakiri, five from Tboung Khmum, four from Kratie, five from Preah Vihear and two from a community preschool supported by Zen Ciril in Kampong Cham.

This training program has been prepared and organized by the Early Childhood Resource Center in collaboration with Krousar Yoeung. Most of the teachers participating in the training are teaching in schools of the Happy Cambodian Children Program funded by the Kinchan Foundation, and another of KrY’s project targeting five pre-schools in the province of Preah Vihear.

With this training program, KrY focuses on providing the teachers with the expertise of trainers, expert in early childhood, as well as allowing them to learn from each other’s experiences. The different speakers participating in this training are professional trainers from the ECRC and KrY as well as experts from the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports (MoEYS).
