From the 8th to the 11th of November 2021, Krousar Yoeung Association (KrY) organized two training courses on hygiene and nutrition for the cooks and the school directors of pre-schools of the HCC Program (Happy Cambodian Children) in the provinces of Tboung Khmum and Kratie. The trainers from Krousar Yoeung Association (KrY) trained a total of 22 participants during the first training and 15 participants during the second.

These trainings were part of the HCC Program which is supported by the Kinchan Foundation and implemented in collaboration with the ECRC (Early Childhood Resource Center).

The training lasted for two days for both provinces. The aim of the training was to highlight the importance of hygiene, especially for cooking, as well as nutritional intakes from food and snacks (three groups of foods etc.). The participants learnt how to manage and prepare foods and snacks as well as the nutritional intake of different types of food in order to cook balanced meals. They will be able to apply this knowledge when they cook breakfast and snacks for the children at the schools.

The training was conducted in two places. The first place was the Education Office of Ponhea Krek District, Tboung Khmum Province. A total of 22 participants joined the training: 12 cooks and 10 school directors. The second place was the Resource Kindergarten of Snoul district, Kratie province. A total of 15 participants joined the training: 7 cooks, 7 school directors, and 1 DoE’s Officer. They came from all target pre-schools in the provinces of Tboung Khmum and Kratie.
